WWF-UK

Description

WWF, the global environment network, is the world's largest and most experienced independent conservation organisation, working in more than 100 countries. It aims to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which people live in harmony with nature, through conserving biodiversity, ensuring the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and reducing pollution and wasteful consumption.

Launched on 23 November 1961, WWF-UK was the first National Organisation in the WWF network. Today WWF-UK has offices in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It is a registered charity - most of its income comes from voluntary sources, such as members, supporters and the business community. In 2009/10 WWF-UK spent over £50m on its work, with over 300+ staff working with governments, businesses and communities in the UK and around the world.
