10:10

Description

10:10 is not just something you support. It's something you do.

We’re on the way to a cleaner, cleverer, low-carbon world, and everyone deserves a chance to help build it.

10:10 creates these chances, and brings people together to make the most of them.

10:10ers work together to:

  • Celebrate the good stuff that’s already happening, and help it spread;
  • Save energy at home, at work and in our local area;
  • Light up our best-loved places with crowdfunded clean energy;
  • Convince people in power to tackle the stuff we don’t control.

CDP

Description

CDP is an international, not-for-profit organization providing the only global system for companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information.

CDP works to transform the way the world does business to prevent dangerous climate change and protect our natural resources. We see a world where capital is efficiently allocated to create long-term prosperity rather than short-term gain at the expense of our environment.

Evidence and insight is vital to driving real change. We use the power of measurement and information disclosure to improve the management of environmental risk. By leveraging market forces including shareholders, customers and governments, CDP has incentivized thousands of companies and cities across the world’s largest economies to measure and disclose their environmental information. We put this information at the heart of business, investment and policy decision making.

We hold the largest collection globally of self reported climate change, water and forest-risk data. Through our global system companies, investors and cities are better able to mitigate risk, capitalize on opportunities and make investment decisions that drive action towards a more sustainable world.

Climate Outreach

Description

Climate Outreach seeks to overcome denial and educate the British public about Climate Change in order to safeguard the future of the environment. Formed in 2004, Climate Outreach (formerly COIN) has always been innovative; and much of our pioneering work has subsequently been taken up by the wider climate change movement. Since then we have become known for our series of training events which we have delivered to groups as varied as district councils and women's institutes. We have recently been selected to manage the well-established Carbon Conversations project which, in a non-threatening but challenging way, guides people towards reducing their carbon footprints. Our other two main current projects are

Language and discourse
We are forging a positive and progressive discourse on climate change. A more optimistic and confident understanding will encourage and enable more action.

Defending Rights
This project seeks to build a platform for civil society engagement on environmental migration. At present there are significant gaps in the legal and policy frameworks to protect those at risk of displacement linked to climate change. Climate Outreach has successfully brought together into the UK Climate Change Migration Forum disparate groups from across the human rights, development, humanitarian and environmental sectors.

Climate UK

Description

Climate UK is the national face of local climate action. We are the network of climate change partnership organisations throughout the UK and are constituted as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company.

Our role is to facilitate a bottom up, nationwide response to climate change by bringing together knowledge and technical expertise from every part of the UK to tackle the challenges and opportunities we face - a national response that reflects local circumstances, local risks and local opportunities. We help to bridge the gap between national Government policy on climate change and the hundreds of public, private, voluntary and community organisations that are committed to taking action. We support the implementation of national policy whilst understanding the realities and constraints of delivering action on the ground.

London Climate Change Partnership (LCCP)

Description

The London Climate Change Partnership, LCCP, is the centre for expertise on climate change adaptation and resilience to extreme weather in London.

We are driving forward awareness and action on climate change so that London is able to remain a great place to live, work, visit and do business.

London is a world centre for finance, transport, politics and culture. The capital is a great city to do business and invest in because it has the vitality, skills, quality of life and infrastructure. However, many of the factors that attract and retain business and investment are vulnerable to our current and future climate.

LCCP is comprised of public, private and community sector organisations that have a role to play in preparing London for extreme weather today and climate change in the future.

Size of Wales

Description

Size of Wales is a unique Welsh initiative that is protecting and sustaining an area of rainforest the size of Wales as part of our national response to climate change.

The Cardiff-based charity supports tropical forests in Latin America and Africa.

Having reached its initial target of raising £2 million in 2013, this small but ambitious team is continuing to work with schools, businesses and community groups to sustain these forests and help some of the poorest people in the world.

The charity has a match fund, meaning every penny donated to its forest projects will be doubled for nothing, brill!

Wales, part of the solution not a measure of the problem.
