Environmental Law Foundation (ELF)

Description

ELF is a national charity which links communities and individuals to environmental legal and technical advice in order to help prevent damage to, and enhance the quality of, the local environment.

ELF advocates and campaigns to secure improved rights for the environment and access to environmental and social justice for all. ELF runs two main projects. The Advice and Referrals Service (A&RS), which, through its network of referral member lawyers, technical consultants and volunteers, handles more than 600 enquires per year. The Community Outreach Programme (COP), closely linked with A&RS, organises and contributes to public events for individuals and community groups approximately once a month, and throughout the UK.

ELF also hosts high profile lectures annually, produces legal briefings and other publications in association with law firms and organisations including WWF, the RSPB, Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth.
