European Environmental Bureau

Description

The European Environmental Bureau stands for environmental justice, sustainable development and participatory democracy. Its aim is to ensure the EU secures a healthy environment and rich biodiversity for all.

Created in 1974, the EEB is now the largest federation of environmental citizens’ organisations in Europe. It currently consists of over 150 member organisations in more than 30 countries (virtually all EU Member States plus some accession and neighbouring countries), including a growing number of European networks, and representing some 15 million individual members and supporters.

It works on a vast array of environmental issues and its policy officers use experts, scientists, its members, and politicians to work towards developing and protecting environmental policies. Visit the website for information on current projects and campaigns..

The EEB office in Brussels closely coordinates EU-oriented activities with EEB Members at national level around Europe. The EEB also works in coalitions, such as the Green 10 and Spring Alliance,or at a global level through the Global Policies and Sustainability Unit as well as in ad-hoc coalitions with representatives of other interest groups when appropriate.
