Brogdale Collections

Independent non-profit making charitable organisation which aims to promote research in use and appreciation of fruits and other horticultural products. Formed in 1990 to safeguard the long term future of the National Fruit Collections. Brogdale has the largest collection of fruit trees in the world. It is a living gene bank of over 4,000 varieties of apples, pears, plums, cherries, cobnuts, currants and quinces.

For a Great Food Day Out in Kent explore the Brogdale Orchards with fields full of fruit including apples, pears, plums, cherries, cobnuts, strawberries and quinces. Experience demonstrations, tastings and displays during our special festivals. Our Tour Guides will entertain you with the historical background to the fruit varieties in season and offer tastings while you explore. Email for more info.

Visit The Courtyard Cafe full of delicious homemade cakes and farm produce or stroll around our Plant Centre, 'Grow' and Market Place shops which promote a healthy lifestyle along with local Kent crafts and of course the 'Brogdale Pigs'
