Big Society Capital

Description

Big Society Capital is the world's first social investment bank. Big Society Capital formally launched in April 2012, with an estimated £600 million of equity to be paid-in over 5 years, of which £400 million will be from unclaimed assets left dormant in bank accounts for over 15 years and £200 million from the UK’s largest high street banks.

Big Society Capital seeks to support the growth of a social investment market in the UK by revolutionising the way in which the social sector is funded. Through supporting the growth of social investment finance providers, Big Society Capital will improve access to innovative forms of financing, and connect the sector to capital markets.

At our events, you will hear directly from 4-6 charities, which have just six minutes each to tell you what they could do with £5,000. After questions, we hold a pledging session where you can donate as much, or as little, as you like.

The Funding Network helps donors to support fantastic young charities in a knowledgeable and effective way to support local, national and international causes. Together we have raised well over £6 million for over 800 diverse local, national and international projects.

neighbourly

Description

Introducing neighbourly.com – a social network set to revolutionise philanthropic giving.

neighbourly.com, launched in July 2014, is a new digital platform designed to connect businesses with local community and charity projects. It is the UK’s first tech solution for a previously unstructured and unconnected corporate philanthropic sector, making the process of local-giving and local-volunteering automated, and therefore scalable.

What is neighbourly?

  • a social network - not a crowd-funding site – we are about connecting community causes with companies that can help.
  • a free resource for community projects and charities.
  • there are no deadlines when projects must be funded by unlike crowdfunding.
  • 100% of funds raised for each project go to the project. We don’t take a cut…

Further sign-up can be provided by contacting a member of the team at neighbourly on: hello@neighbourly.com.
