Deeson's British Restaurant

Description

Deeson's is a privately owned restaurant situated in the heart of the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. We pride ourselves on using the best produce that Kent - the allotment of England - has to offer. We have sourced some of the best suppliers around Britain to bring us ingredients which our passion led team use to create new and innovative British dishes. In addition to our varied weekly menus, we serve a traditional roast on Sundays.

The Bunker is our own five acre smallholding situated on the outskirts of Canterbury where we grow and rear our own produce for use on our menu. We enjoy growing a large variety of seasonal vegetables and rearing a selection of rare breed livestock and poultry. We even have our own bee hives!

Extensive research has brought us an amazing variety of local drinks, such as: wines from the award winning Chapel Down vineyard near Tenterden, beers from award winning microbrewery Hopdaemon in Newnham and Gadds Brewery in Ramsgate as well as Core cider from Canterbury.

With a luxurious interior and two beautiful private dining rooms, Deeson's is a great dining experience with a relaxed and family friendly atmosphere.

Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons

Description

1984 saw the opening of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, combining breathtaking surroundings with gastronomic excellence.

"I had in mind a small house in the country, but I fell in love with Great Milton Manor, set in 30 acres. With the help of a few friends it was transformed into a magnificent country house hotel."

Raymond Blanc aimed to create a place where guests could relax and savour the surroundings. Working with some of the best interior designers in the UK, he transformed the rooms into stylish and unique palaces.

The restaurant swiftly earned two Michelin stars, which it has held for a staggering 29 years. Stunning gardens are the envy of botanists worldwide.

The Raymond Blanc Cookery School, opened in 1991, attracts a constant stream of budding chefs.

The Goods Shed Restaurant

Description

The Goods Shed restaurant sits on a raised platform overlooking the market. The compact, seasonal menu changes twice a day, using the best local ingredients the market has to offer. Slow proved loaves are drawn from the ovens in the bakery throughout the day, whole carcasses of meat broken into cuts on the butchery and dishes being prepared and cooked from the open kitchen.

Lunch is served from noon and is popular for three courses or for some, just a couple of starters. Supper is slightly more formal and served from 6pm as the market is winding down for the day. Call the restaurant for our latest menu.

Wahaca - Bluewater

Description

Looking to the markets of Mexico for inspiration, Wahaca was born from our love of fresh, honest, Mexican market food.

Not so long ago, tequila girls, cheap shots and greasy tortilla chips were images that sprang to mind when ‘Mexican’ was done in Britain. At Wahaca we shook things up a bit and started doing things a little differently. We’ve worked hard to match the flavours of Mexico with ingredients we can get hold of to create a constantly evolving, seasonal menu with ingredients sourced as locally as possibly, or grown and transported with care for the environment.

In recognition of our attempts to run our business with minimal impact on the environment around us, we've been voted Sustainable Restaurant Group of the year for 2 years running by the SRA. Our Wahaca Southbank Experiment restaurant was awarded the Green Building award at the Sustainable City Awards. Our most recent opening in St. Paul's was awarded a Gold SKA rating for measures including our recycling our used cooking oil into Bio Diesel used to power taxis in South London and the recycling of the heat given off by our freezers, to heat our water, saving energy by avoiding the need for a boiler.
