Oxford Adaptation Academy

The Global Climate Adaptation Partnership offers practical and innovative Adaptation solutions that are shaped around climate vulnerability, socio-economic impacts and long term vision.

Our experts understand the uncertainties of climate change and the unique aspects of the target region to provide relevant analysis of the costs and benefits of climate change adaptation, select appropriate adaptation options, build a customised adaptation knowledge tool, to train clients in best leadership and innovation to find the most appropriate adaptation solutions.

The Oxford Adaptation Academy is a joint venture between the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at Oxford University, and the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership. A three week long course it exposes climate practitioners to the links between climate science, vulnerability and decision making. Now in its sixth year it successfully offers a participant driven, professional training programme designed around practice.

Organisations that have sent participants include: UNFCCC for three consecutive years; major development banks (Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, Inter-American Bank 2013/2014) UNDP, government as well as international NGOs such as Practical Action Nepal.

See the website for programme, testimonials etc. It will take place from 9-28 August, 2015 and is receiving applications now.
