Camden Cycling Campaign

Description

As the Camden branch of London Cycling Campaign, we support their aim to make London a world-class cycling city in which more people will want to cycle.

The Camden group has over 600 members. We work with Camden Council to improve road conditions in the borough so as to encourage more people to benefit from the accessibility, fitness and time saving that comes with regular cycle use.

We are involved in campaigns for better on-road cycle routes; for more cycle access in parks; for better cycle access to stations and schools; and for more secure cycle parking everywhere.

Greater Manchester Cycling Campaign

Description

Greater Manchester Cycling Campaign is a voluntary group working to make cycling quicker, safer, easier and more enjoyable. The group wants more people to use bicycles for transport and leisure, and it represents and empowers people who do this. Less than 5% of journeys in Greater Manchester are made by bicycle because many people who would like to cycle are intimidated by the quantity and speed of motorised traffic; GMCC is campaigning to change this.

The UK's leading sustainable transport charity. Its vision is a world where people choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment. It is the charity behind practical and innovative solutions to some of the UK's biggest transport challenges, including the award-winning National Cycle Network, Safe Routes to Schools, Bike It and TravelSmart.

Sustrans' work relies on the backing of 40,000 Supporters, and the support of charitable trusts, companies, the National Lottery and local authority programmes. The Otesha Project UK

Description

At the heart of the Otesha Project you’ll find a two-wheeled revolution. Every summer teams of volunteers pedal across the UK stopping at schools, youth clubs, festivals and community events to inspire individuals to take creative and positive action towards a more sustainable future. Tour members receive plenty of training and get skilled up on everything from consensus decision making to bike maintenance.

So – What’s it like to be on tour?

Tour members will be part of a mobile community of around 15 people who share roles such as meal planning, cooking, meeting facilitation, record keeping, presenting workshops, equipment maintenance, the planning of wild and fun group activities, and all importantly being inspired and inspiring others to live more sustainably!

The tour this year is called Totally Tasty and is totally coastal, well, mostly! For 3 weeks we’ll be rolling across lowlands along the South-East coast line sampling the region’s flourishing sustainable food projects and sharing our workshops with schools, youth groups, and communities along the way.

Totally Tasty Tour Dates: 6th – 27th July 2013
This tour will give you the best of both our signature six week tours and our new food-themed tour, with time dedicated to learning about food sustainability through diverse visits and volunteering opportunities alongside delivering workshops in schools.

Our FAQs are helpful too if you want to know more about the tour!
