Hackney City Farm

Exists to bring the countryside and its activities to urban people, generally using otherwise derelict land and involving local people in their establishment and maintenance. The farm is a registered charity and was established in 1984 on 1.5 acres of land and buildings. Originally a brewery, the buildings are substantial while areas that were once roads and buildings are now used for growing and grazing.

As well as running courses and volunteering sessions, the farm is a home to various other social enterprises and community groups. The farm aims to be a centre for environmental improvement and a hub for projects for the improvement of the community and local environment.

Affiliated to the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens.
