Bollin Valley Partnership

Description

The Bollin Valley Partnership started, in 1972, as a pioneering experiment into managing land around towns for wildlife, farming and recreation. Its Rangers now look after over 100 miles (170 Kms) of waymarked paths, several picnic sites, a Country Park and Visitor Centre, the Aviation Viewing Park and part of the Trans Pennine Trail, and coordinate the Bollin RVI (River Valley Initiative) for the Mersey Basin Campaign. It works with others (landowners, schools, individuals, businesses) to improve woodlands, ponds, grasslands and hedgerows, to benefit both wildlife and people. Partnership Rangers, helped by members of the Bollin Valley Education Working Group, run a varied annual programme of walks and other activities, which also includes the Wilmslow and Bollin Valley Show and a Taster Day for people with disabilities.
