Friends of Hilly Fields

Description

The Friends of Hilly Fields are a voluntary group who support their beautiful park Hilly Fields by working with the Council and Glendale (grounds maintenance contractors) and park users. We arrange events and activities in the park, fundraise for park improvements.

Our park has a wildflower meadow, small woodland conservation area, a new orchard, a soon to be opened cricket wicket, a millennium stone circle, tennis courts and a basket ball court, table tennis a recently refurbished playground and one of the oldest bowls club in London. The site was saved for its hill top views and to save some countryside for the people. We still have stunning hill top views out to Shooters Hill and Blackheath (rapidly being lost), One Tree Hill, Crystal Palace and the north Downs (on a clear day) and Docklands.
