Growing Communities

Description

Growing Communities is a small social enterprise in Hackney that aims to create community-led alternatives to the current damaging food system. We run an organic fruit and vegetable box scheme, a certified farmers' market every Saturday in Stoke Newington, where all the producers sell organic, biodynamic or wild produce, and three urban market gardens in Hackney parks where we grow organic, zero-food-miles salad for the box scheme and local restaurants and cafés. Local schools, residents and groups with special needs can visit the growing sites to learn more about organic food growing or to become a regular volunteer.

Growing Communities is working to improve what we eat, how we eat and how it’s farmed. Visit the website for more details of how to get involved or to join the box scheme.
