The Cultural Centre whihch is located at the end of the pier can be accessed by catching the pier trains, which run on the hour and on the half hour from 8.00am. The pier trains return to the shore end at quarter past the hour and quarter to the hour.

Event Description

Southend on Sea Borough Councilis pleased to announce the third annual Funding a Green Future conference, which has been titled Re:Source.

It will be held on 7th March 2013 during Climate Week.

The conference brings together organisations in the private and public sectors; from those who are starting their green journey to those who are at the forefront of the UK's transition to a low carbon and more sustainable future.

This offers an opportunity for knowledge exchange in relation to green initiatives, innovative sustainability practices, energy saving and cost reduction while working together for a common goal.

It will provide you with cost effective ideas, insight into state of the art technologies and awareness of new legislation, initiatives and innovations.

Speakers will include Rob Smith from IBM, British Gas and Olympus Keymed.

A buffet lunch will be provided giving you the opportunity to network with other businesses.

The afternoon offers delegates the opportunity to choose between a tour of a range of green projects across Southend which include the Eco-Hub, Prittlewell Priory, North Road Chapels and Really Smart Housesfor some hands on experience of sustainable practices in action. Alternatively, there will be a series of talks and workshops that cover a range of subjects from solar pv and renewable technologies which will be held in the Cultural Centre.

If you are an early bird, then you are also welcome to join us for the SBP briefing, which is being held in the Cultural Centre at 08:45am until 10:00 am. It provides an opportunity for businesses to hear from the Chief Executive from Southend on Sea Borough Council as well as a key speaker from the private sector.
