Event Description

Comprehensive Technical Guidance plus the Sustainable Angle from the Expert

This new one-day seminar is run by Mark Saich, whose extensive experience both as a Building Control officer and director of Green Building Solutions brings expert insight into the subject of designing high performing, healthy houses that will be future proofed against climate change. The emphasis throughout the seminar will be on down-to-earth advice to use in practice.

This seminar takes a critical exploration through Part L as it relates to existing dwellings (AD L1B) - extensions, conversions and retrofits. Mark will highlight requirements, solutions, best practice and exemptions through case examples.

Revisions to Part L are due in April 2014. Mark will be exploring the proposed changes and their implications for work on existing buildings.

Throughout the day, Mark will emphasise the sustainable aspects of the Regulations and standards so that delegates leave with a full understanding of how to retrofit low energy, healthy, fully compliant homes fit for the 21st century.

What did our delegates say about Mark’s previous Part L training sessions?
“Really good pace and well presented, kept our attention all day!”
“Exactly the right balance of technical content and clear presentation”
“Really excellent & seamless, expansive knowledge”
“Simple approach to complex changes to already complex subject matter – well presented”
“Excellent refresher and insight into future changes”
“Very good overview of content and future legislation – the speaker obviously has good ‘hands on’ experience”
