Calling all photographers! Environmental Photographer of the Year 2015

Kevin Mcelvaney, Adam Latif, 21

Now open for entries, the Atkins CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year competition is an international showcase for the very best in environmental photography and film. The competition is free to enter and offers an exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society and a total prize money of £8,000, including awards for young photographers, film and a solo show.

The competition provides an opportunity for amateur and professional photographers of all ages to share images of environmental and social issues with international audiences, and to enhance our understanding of the causes, consequences and solutions to climate change and social inequality.

Entries will be selected on impact, composition, originality, creativity and technical ability. The judging panel are looking in particular for pictures that show the dynamic link between environmental and social issues in a way that makes us think differently about the world around us. Previous entries have examined issues such as innovation, sustainable development, biodiversity, poverty, climate change, human rights, culture, natural disasters and population growth.
