Sustainable Fish Cities

Sustainable Fish Cities is a campaign by Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming.

The campaign aims to get restaurants, business, schools, hospitals, care homes, prisons, staff canteens and any other places serving fish outside the home to sell only demonstrably sustainable fish. We ask that they:

  1. Avoid the worst (avoid species rated as 5 by the Marine Conservation Society, or endangered species such as eel)
  2. Promote the best (gain Marine Stewardship Council certification, and promote those products and products rated 1 and 2 by the Marine Conservation Society)
  3. Improve the rest (use farmed fish which is certified by the ASC, GLobalGAP or GAA BAP, source pole and line tuna or make changes to more sustainable alternatives)

All of our pledges are listed on our website.
