Event Description

Join us for a taster of some of the exciting activities we run, from sensory activities and face painting to pond dipping and minibeast hunting, and find out how you can get more involved. This year we will also be running a BioBlitz, recording what we find on the day as a measure of the biodiversity in the Centre grounds. Make sure to bring appropriate clothing and footwear in case the ground is muddy, and plenty of enthusiasm.

About the Organiser

Epping Forest Field Centre

Epping Forest Field Centre (EFFC) is in the heart of Epping Forest. The centre is managed by the Field Studies Council (FSC), an independent environmental education charity, on behalf of the City of London.

EFFC specialises in connecting people of all ages with the natural environment by providing safe and enjoyable learning experiences in Epping Forest and the surrounding area. The emphasis is on first-hand investigations and discovery learning. It is a non-residential centre that provides course for learners of all ages, from toddlers to pensioners.

In addition to its main work, providing fieldwork for school groups, the centre offers Eco-activities (which include family courses, 'drop-in' days and holiday activities for children), uniform group badge work, a programme of professional development courses and leisure learning for adults and a range of community and outreach activities. It also delivers some professional services: training, research, monitoring, advisory, school grounds.

Please mention the Green Guide when responding to this event.
