Rural Cooking Weekend

Event Description

Enjoy a day out with Game Preparation and Cooking Demonstrations by professional Forager Michael White, hedgerow walks with the Badger Bushcraft Company, Rural Craft, Food Stalls including the Wild Food Catering Company and stalls selling local and rural foods. Tractor Trailer Tours will be running all weekend and our Marketplace Shops, Butcher, Restaurant, Miniature Railway & Play Park will all be open too! As one of our smaller event days, the Rural Cooking Weekend is a fun day out and a chance to discover food that is right on your doorstep.

National Parks Week - ride the Breeze Bus to the South Downs for free

Event Description

This summer, South East families who dread car journeys with kids can try visiting the South Downs by Breeze Bus for free or half price, thanks to the South Downs National Park Authority, Brighton and Hove City Buses and Brighton and Hove City Council.

Families will be able to take in the views from the top of the Breeze Bus for free during National Parks Week (26th July – 4th August) and then half price for the rest of the summer by visiting www.southdowns.gov.uk/discover and downloading their free or half price tickets.

Traditional Crafts Weekend

Event Description

As well as being havens for wildlife, wetlands are also crucial for humans. For thousands of years, wetlands have provided the raw materials to feed, clothe and house people. Our traditional country crafts weekend celebrates this aspect of wetlands with a number of demonstrations relating to rural and wetland crafts.

Come along to see skilled professionals demonstrate their crafts and maybe even have a go at them yourself. You’ll also be able to buy some of their beautiful handmade crafts to take home. Read more »

Parent and child wildlife photography workshop

Event Description

A practical and enjoyable day for budding young wildlife photographers (aged 8 or above) and their parents, to learn how to get great shots of wildlife.

Starting with an illustrated introductory session looking at composition, technique, fieldcraft and equipment, you will then head outside for practical session of nature photography.

This event is suitable for all skill levels and camera types (compact or SLR).

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Due to small course numbers there will be plenty of time for 1-2-1 tuition
