John Muir Trust

Description

The John Muir Trust is a charity that was founded in 1983. It believes wild places are essential for the wellbeing of people and wildlife.

The Trust purchases and conserves some outstandingly beautiful areas of wild land including Ben Nevis and parts of the Isle of Skye, Knoydart, Sutherland and Perthshire. Bite-Back

Description

Formed in 2002, Bite-Back is the UK's only organisation dedicated to the protection of sharks by reducing consumer demand for its meat and fins. With the law of supply and demand at its cornerstone, Bite-Back works together with restaurants, fishmongers and retailers to remove shark products from menus and fish counters, effectively lowering the trade in this threatened species.

The 'Friends' were formed in 1990. Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park is truly the historic green heart of Tower Hamlets. 33 acres of Broad leaf woodland in a disused 19th century cemetery, surrounded by tower blocks and estates, where 1000s of people live. The Cemetery Park has an outstanding variety of wild plants and animals as well as plants which give clues to its history.
