Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development

Description

The Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development (OISD) was established in July 2004. OISD research addresses the multiple dimensions of sustainable development (social, economic, environmental and governance) and the synergies and processes that link them. Our research is funded by diverse range of organisations both UK and international, encompassing research councils, government, industry and charities.

The Greenhouse

Description

Norwich's Environment Centre. The Greenhouse is a licenced cafe and shop selling organic and fairtrade produce. The building offers meeting rooms and gallery space and is a contact point for local groups including Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Norwich Cycling Campaign and Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Secondhand book sales are held every Friday and Saturday and a range of environmental magazines and information is availble from the shop and cafe. Read more »

Sumac Centre

Description

The Sumac Centre is an independent community resource and social centre. It houses a vegan café, social club bar and Veggies Catering Campaign, providing information and resources for local residents, and members of the wider campaigning community concerned about human and animal rights, social justice and environmental issues. There is also a community garden, a modest library, internet access and bookshop.

Ragman's Lane Farm

Description

60 acre organic farm following Permaculture principles which offers working holiday accommodation in a bunk house, private holiday bookings (hot tub and fire pit included!) and a range of farm activities including cider production.
