EcoActive Centre

Description

Leicester’s EcoHouse was the first environmental show home to be opened in the United Kingdom. In 2013 the House became a community hub; creating a space for local people to relax, learn, explore and discover. Brocks Hill Visitor Centre and Country Park

Description

The Brocks Hill Country Park has 67 acres of woodland, ponds and wildflower meadows and a wind turbine which provides electricity for the Centre. It is open for access at any time as are the two playareas - a small toddlers area and the large "natural play" area.

The Visitor Centre is free to enter and houses a café, exhibition hall, shop and meeting room facilities. The building is constructed to demonstrate environmentally conscious building design showing wind and solar power, photovoltaics, rainwater re-cycling and sustainable construction. Read more »
