Institute for Outdoor Learning


A membership organisation providing support and accreditation to outdoor professionals and a range of services which include a specialist bookshop offering discounts, Horizons, the only magazine which offers continuing professional development and inspiration for the outdoor practitioner, plus insurance, comprising of a special package for those who lead groups outdoors, a quarterly newsletter, courses and conferences, a website (including jobs area), special interest groups, careers information, safety consultants, and regional groups. IOL is a registered charity.

Education Otherwise


Membership organisation which provides support and information for families whose children are being educated outside school. Publishes a regular newsletter and runs a nationwide network of local groups who meet for social and educational activities.

Woodcraft Folk


Educational organisation that works with children and young people from pre-school to 25-years-old in five age groups. Runs a programme designed to encourage understanding of environmental issues in the context of living in a world where equality, peace and friendship are important.
