Development Education Project (DEP)


An educational charity providing support and information to promote a global perspective in the classroom. DEP provides support and advice on all areas of Development Education through in-service training, curriculum support projects and a Resource Centre, which contains over 2500 educational books and teaching resources. Runs projects to develop teaching practice, improve teacher training and create new resources for classroom activities.

British Council for School Environments


A membership organisation made up of local authorities, schools, construction companies, architects and others involved in, and concerned about, the design and build process in the education sector.

Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship


Represents the 35 autonomous Steiner Waldorf Schools in the UK and Ireland. There are now over 958 schools worldwide, 1600 kindergartens, and 60 teacher training institutions in some 60 countries. Key characteristics of the education include a careful balance in the artistic, practical and intellectual content of the international Steiner Waldorf curriculum and a co-educational structure for students from three to 19 years, resulting in a broad education based on Steiner’s spiritual insight. GCSE and A-level examinations are taken without pressure.

LEEF (London Environmental Education Forum)


LEEF is a networking organisation that aims to support, facilitate and promote environmental education across Greater London.

We organise training workshops and events and circulate information to raise the profile of environmental education within the media. Hosted by The London Wildlife Trust, LEEF has one part-time coordinator – Anna Portch, who has a wealth of environmental education experience, information on practitioners, facilities and resources all geared up for the capital’s educators. Manchester Environmental Education Network (MEEN)


MEEN is a network of teachers, organisations and individuals actively committed to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Manchester. The network acts as a support mechanism for teachers by providing training on ESD, giving advice about relevant resources, and acting as a link to organisations able to support schools. MEEN produces a termly newsletter, Beehive, and runs a quarterly forum for schools and practitioners.
